Stacking the Shelves #206

I am really excited to participate in Stacking the Shelves, a weekly meme hosted by Tynga's Reviews and Reading Reality.

My Life
This was a pretty normal week for me.  I made it to the gym 4 times and hope to keep it up.  Other than that, I pretty much spent the day and work and then stayed home in the evenings.

My cousin, his wife, and son stopped by my mom's house this weekend and we were able to visit for a bit.  It has been years since we have seen each other so that was nice.

We are planning to stay home and watch the game tonight and maybe eat a few snacks.

How was your week?  Do you have any Super Bowl plans?

  1. We don't do Superbowl in Australia, but rest well!

  2. As much as I used to enjoy the Superbowl in my younger days, it's on too late for me to sit up and watch the game. I value my sleep too much!

    1. I value my sleep as well. I wouldn't go out of my way too much to watch the game but we did have it on :)

  4. I never watch the game, but I stopped doing family parties for my daughter, because of it. Nobody would come, because they had super bowl parties to go to.

    1. That's terrible! I do like football and try to watch games throughout the year but I wouldn't miss someone's birthday over it.

  5. Normal weeks are great! I don't Superbowl so I will just be watching something probably on netflix or Acorn TV. :) Great haul!

Have a great week and happy reading!

    1. I don't think that I have heard of Acorn TV. I like watching sports because I can usually read and keep up with the game at the same time.

  6. Yay for the quiet week! I'm not much of a Super Bowl person anymore. I mean the commercials were why I watched it but the past several years all the commercials have sucked. And with no Clydesdale in the Budweiser ones, I find it all very lacking. LOL. I remember when I was in school the commercials were really good! We even had an assignment to break one down for a media class. I can't remember which one I chose...it was sooo long ago.

Nice new reads too! Seeing some good ones in your Book Outlet haul! I hope you enjoy them all! I'm guessing you might be seeing Tricia Levenseller this month too at the Kisker Library? I already plan to attend for sure! :)

    Happy Reading!

  7. oooo I see some pretties in that Book Outlet order! I have never shopped there but I just try hard not to buy physical books anymore.

I didn't even know who was playing in the Super Bowl until someone mentioned it today. I used to go to this great party, for years, at a friend's home in Minnesota. But he moved to St. Thomas (Virgin Islands) and since then I haven't paid any attention to it. There was also a great yarn sale at a favorite shop (again Minnsota), always on Super bowl Sunday, which I enjoyed.

Other than the visit with family, it sounds like a routine week and sometimes that is the best. I had a very productive week so I'm feeling positive.

Have a wonderful week and enjoy those new reads! I hope you get the warmer weather as we are this week.

    1. I am picking up more print books lately than I have in years. Sometimes, my eyes feel better reading print. I am trying to read some print, some digital, and some audio. It sounds like you had some great Superbowl Sundays in the past!

  8. Sounds like a mostly uneventful week which is good. I'll be watching the game tonight but I doubt I'll stay up till the end (I go to bed early). I'd like to see the Chiefs win but I'm not particularly invested in this match-up. I see you got Intercepted from Book Outlet. I loved that one! Marlee and Gavin were so great.

    1. My husband and I were both fairly quiet this year. I don't remember either of us yelling at the TV. Thanks, Jovita!

  13. Way to go staying with your gym goal! Yes, I watched and now mourn- my home team lost. :(
But, I'm cheered up seeing your great book haul. Lots of good ones in there.

    Enjoy your week, Carole! :)

    1. I was torn as to who I wanted to see win. I live in MO so the Chiefs were a definite pick but the QB for the 49ers graduated from my daughter's college and it would have been great for her school for them to win. I just wanted to see a good game and I think it was.

  14. Great haul and we had a nice quiet Super Bowl as well. Mr. Barb made snacks including wings and a fruit salad and we watched with our favorite "people" the pups.

    1. It sounds like we had very similar nights. We also had wings. I do need to know how you get Mr. Barb to make snacks. I have been trying for 20 years to get Mr. Carole in the kitchen!

  16. I am not familiar with any of the ones in your haul, but yay for new books! I hope you all had fun sitting down and watching the Superbowl. I never do watch but I did watch the JLO and Shakira performance. Shakira is just so talents and blows my mind!

    1. I didn't care too much for the halftime show but that is kind of normal for me. I have been hearing rave reviews for their performance. We ate chili cheese dip at halftime so I guess that was where my attention was :)

  17. I hope you enjoyed the game and your snacks. We're not a football family, so it's just a normal day for us. I do like watching the commercials on YouTube afterwards, though. Ha ha. ☺

I hope you had a wonderful start to your week! 🌞

    1. There was only one commercial that stuck with me. If you haven't seen it yet, the Bill Murray Groundhog day commercial was great!

  18. I only watched bits and pieces of the Super Bowl and I was hoping San Francisco would win since I live in California, but I didn't really care either way, lol! I did like the half time show. Yay for having an uneventful week. I love those! There's way too much going on in my life most of the time so I embrace boring! :)
