Stacking the Shelves #195

I am really excited to participate in Stacking the Shelves, a weekly meme hosted by Tynga's Reviews and Reading Reality.

My Life
I don't even know what is going on with me this week.  We have not done well with the time change.  I finally "slept in" until 5:30 am on Saturday but every other day since the time change has been 4:30 am or even 3:30 am.  Follow those days up with an 8 hours workday and I am ready for bed at 8:00 pm to start the whole process over.

On the book collecting side of things, I have been a bit of a nut.  I have bought a lot of books this week.  I am only going to share my Book of the Month picks and books sent to me by publishers in this post but honestly, these don't even scratch the surface.  After really giving my bookshelves a good look, I realized that a lot of the books that I love and want to display weren't there.  A lot of the books on my shelves are really my daughter's books more than anything which is great but I want my books there too.  I have bought a lot of Stephen King, some Joe Hill, an Ilona Andrews, a couple of Katherine Arden, and several other miscellaneous picks.

And I ordered a bookshelf!  This bookshelf will take a couple of months to be made but I got to pick out what color I wanted it to be stained and the exact size I wanted.   This is going to be a big bookshelf made of solid wood that should last me the rest of my lifetime.  It is going to be 48" wide and 84" tall with seven shelves.  I can't wait to get it!

  2. Ooh I look forward to a looky at your new bookshelf when it is ready! It sounds like just the thing to display the pretty books. Ugh it's no fun not being able to sleep properly, I know that firsthand. I need a nice long lie next weekend after the Amazon boxes arrive through this week!

  3. The time change won the battle with me as well. I have been waking up at like 2 am all week. I need more sleep. I do think I am slowly adjusting, though. Have fun redoing your shelves, and nice haul. I am excited to read the new Katie McGarry book.

  4. I badly need a new bookshelf. I’m running out of space for clothes because my closet and dresser are full of books. I hope you enjoy your new books and shelf!

  6. I have been totally screwed up this week myself. Luckily Lulu doesn't care, she just waits for me to let her out. I am so excited about your bookcase. I have chosen a different route for myself and am mostly going digital except for things I already have and autographed ones. I have my great-grandparents lawyer's bookcase where I keep the autographed ones on shelves by genre. I have also been on a real book spree with ARCs and audio purchases. I hope you have a great week and enjoy some of those new reads!

  10. My internal clock hasn't been off, but the animals still were for half of the week. :)
Oh neat about the bookshelf. I've been slowly shifting out books I was meh about or not into anymore so I can display the ones I really like.

Enjoy all your new books from the haul and have a great week, Carole!

  11. I hate daylight savings. It messes me up twice a year. Both get me, no idea why. I hope you enjoy all of your books.

  13. Congrats on the bookshelf. It sounds awesome. And hey, it sounds like you're adding some great books to your shelves. I've had a harder time adjusting to this time change than I ever recall doing in the past. CRAZY!

  15. I missed this Sunday Post! This was the week I was soooo sick I missed a few days of work and was on cold meds 24/7 just to get by. I do like to have my favorite books occupying my bookshelves too, and I find that a lot are there just because I haven't had a chance to go through and clean things out. It's so hard to decide what to keep and what to give away. Congrats on getting a new big bookshelf and good luck filling it with your favorites!

Hope you enjoy A Cowboy Under the Mistletoe!
