This week's neglected book

Honor Among Thieves by Rachel Caine & Ann Aguirre

Series: The Honors #1
Publication Date: February 13, 2018
Publisher: Katherine Tegen Books
Petty criminal Zara Cole has a painful past that’s made her stronger than most, which is why she chose life in New Detroit instead of moving with her family to Mars. In her eyes, living inside a dome isn’t much better than a prison cell.

Still, when Zara commits a crime that has her running scared, jail might be exactly where she’s headed. Instead Zara is recruited into the Honors, an elite team of humans selected by the Leviathan—a race of sentient alien ships—to explore the outer reaches of the universe as their passengers.

Zara seizes the chance to flee Earth’s dangers, but when she meets Nadim, the alien ship she’s assigned, Zara starts to feel at home for the first time. But nothing could have prepared her for the dark, ominous truths that lurk behind the alluring glitter of starlight.

Why did I add Honor Among Thieves to my bookshelf?

I recently bought the second book in this series from Book Outlet which was a very good reminder that I still need to read the first book.  I just need more time to read because I am terrible at actually getting to all of the books on my tbr!  I have had luck with both Rachel Caine and Ann Aguirre so I am eager to give their collaboration a try.  Most of my friends on Goodreads that have read the book have enjoyed and I hope to as well.
This week's photo

I didn't think a photo was going to happen this week.  Every pic that I got was either a blurry dog on the move or some evil glowing eyes.  Piper did cooperate for a brief second.  Piper does not understand the recent time change at all.  My husband usually gets up at 5:30 which is way too early but that is what she is used to.  This week she has been waking up precisely at 4:30 so guess what....I have been getting up at 4:30 every day since the time change.  I know how to set the clocks but can someone tell me where the setting is on the dog because I need some sleep!  At least she's cute :)

What are your thoughts? Have you read this book?  Would you recommend it to others?

  2. I get lots of glowing/fuzzy dog pics. Cass doesn't like to sit still for long. I think it's a good pic though. I love both authors on this book so I bet it's a good one!

  6. My dog didn't like the time change either. I ended up going to bed an hour early just so I could get up with him earlier. But he slept in for an extra hour this morning.

  7. Oh, yes, might have bought books and still hadn't read the ones before it in the series. LOL
Ah, yes, the cats were starved an hour early and I was so sleepy trying to get them fed. It's taken nearly all week to get them back on schedule.

  8. I like both these authors and I considered this series but something about it held me back. I hope you enjoy it and get some sleep. Lulu was getting me up in the middle of the night when she first came to us, but now she just sleeps until we wake her even as late as 10 or 11am! Of course, we keep her up at night some also.

  13. I feel guilty over books which I've requested and left lying around for months. I finished one today Michael Innes Death on a Quiet Day. I now wonder why it took me so long to get to it. It was such a good one.

  15. I’ve read some paranormal by Rachel Caine that I enjoyed. And some contemporary by Ann Aguirre that I enjoyed. But I never picked this one up since sic-fi/fantasy just isn’t something that I gel with. I hope you’ll love it when you get to it!

  16. I have so many books on my shelves that I really need to get to. I need more hours in the day. Our dogs schedule is all messed up too. They've gotten better the last few days not getting up so early. The pic of Piper is great! Hope you have great weekend!
