This week's neglected book

The Girl in 6E by A.R. Torre

Series: Deanna Madden #1
Publication Date: January 21, 2014
Publisher: Redhook
I haven't touched a human in three years. That seems like it would be a difficult task, but it's not. Not anymore, thanks to the internet.

I am, quite possibly, the most popular recluse ever. Not many shut-ins have a 200-member fan club, a bank account in the seven-figure range, and hundreds of men lining up to pay for undivided attention.

They get satisfaction, I get a distraction. Their secret desires are nothing compared to why I hide... my lust for blood, my love of death.

Taking their money is easy. Keeping all these secrets... one is bound to escape.

What if you hid yourself away because all you could think of was killing? And what if one girl's life was depending on you venturing into society?

Enter a world of lies, thrills, fears, and all desires, in this original thriller from A. R. Torre.

Why did I add The Girl in 6E to my bookshelf?

I remember spotting this book at a used book sale and getting so excited.  I think my heart even sped up a bit when I got it in my hands.  I paid for it and put it in a prominent spot on my bookshelves where it has sat for the past several years.  I can't even remember why I was so excited now.  It looks like some of my Goodreads friends loved this books while others were not impressed.  I noticed that a lot of reviews are calling it an erotic thriller which is different.  I don't read a lot of erotica but love a good thriller.  I might as well try to get to this one.

This week's photo
This week's photo features Piper!  I was so excited to get her to sit still long enough for a picture.  Piper just turned 5 months old and is busy keeping us on our toes.  She does make a very nice model though :)

What are your thoughts? Have you read this book?  Would you recommend it to others?

  2. Ooh, yeah, I remember people getting excited about that one, but I passed because I thought it would be just a tad too thrilling for me. LOL I've definitely been guilty of letting books languish after getting excited to have them. :)

  3. Five months old and already so big! Great modelling pose! She really isn't keen on either the book or the camera!

  4. Piper is so beautiful and yep, she's gonna be a big one. Great that she will sit still for you. I'm finding myself having a hard time with the holiday season without Booker T. He loved Halloween and when I put up the decorations, I almost wanted to tear them back down.

Back to the subject at hand. Yep, I own this one too but it's on my Kindle. Of course, that doesn't surprise me. We own tons of the same books!

  5. Piper looks really serious in this picture. I think she is judging you for having not read this book yet. LOL.

  7. Wow Piper seems to be growing fast, didn't you post a pic a while back of her as a puppy? She seemed a lot smaller. :)

  11. Piper is being so good! Such a beautiful dog. The synopsis of this one does sound good, so I can see why you were first attracted to it. I hope you enjoy it when you read it.
