Stacking the Shelves #184

I am really excited to participate in Stacking the Shelves, a weekly meme hosted by Tynga's Reviews and Reading Reality.

My Life
This was a pretty normal week.  Work, home, and never enough time to do all the things I want to do.  I was able to get a new window put in my daughter's car last weekend.  They actually came to my house to take care of it.  The only problem is that pieces of glass got everywhere.  I think we will be finding glass in the car for quite a while but I hope we got it all out of my garage and off my driveway.

My daughter decided to come home this weekend.  I left work at 4:00 and made it home with her at 10:00.  That's a lot of time in a car and I was tired by the time we made it home.  I am pretending that my daughter wanted to see me and her dad but I think she probably wants her car back more than anything.

She's cute but probably a big reason why I am so tired all of the time :)

Books Added
Crush the King by Jennifer Estep (Edelweiss) - I loved the first two books in this series and cannot wait to start reading this one.

The Reckless Oath We Made by Bryn Greenwood (Purchased) - I have an ARC of this book from NetGalley but knew it would be a while before I could get to it.  When I saw that a full cast of narrators read the book, I decided to use one of my Audible credits to purchase the book.  I finished it yesterday and feel like it was a credit well spent.

What books do you add to your shelves this week?
Let me know in the comments and be sure to leave a link to your own STS post!

  3. The puppy is adorable! They can be a lot fun but tiring too. Have a great weekend and enjoy your time with your daughter.

  4. Oh yeah she is cute but dogs are tiring in the beginning. We've had Falcor for 5 years now and when we first got him he was a big ball of energy. He's half Jack Russell so he has so much energy.

  5. I am sure she missed you more than her car

  6. That long of a car drive after a day at work would be exhausting! And you can't blame a girl for wanting her car back, but let's say it was a situation with multiple benefits! ;) Plus puppy time!! She's still soooo cute but I can imagine you being tired! Puppies are like babies...then as they get older they revert back to babies! Ours will be 14 next month and I swear he's more baby than old man now with his waking up in the middle of the night...not always to be let out mind you, sometimes he's hungry, sometimes he doesn't know what he wants! Lol.

Nice new reads! I also got Crush the King which I am excited about! Just need to prioritize my review books and still be able to squeeze in a TBR book here and there so I can finish up one of my challenges before December! I can't believe how quickly this year is wrapping up now!

Hope you enjoy the new reads!

My StS will be up tomorrow, so stop by then if you can!

    Have a GREAT day!

  8. You are a great mom to do all that driving. I am sure your daughter will remember you, when she is rich and successful. It's not easy having babies again, but that pup is soooooooo cute!

  9. Every time I think Piper can't get any cuter, you surprise me with an even more gorgeous photo! I'm still trying to decide whether to try this Jennifer Estep series. I probably need to concentrate on her Elemental Assassin books first!

  10. yes Lulu is letting me sleep now until I wake up most days but got me up at 5:30am yesterday. But I'm getting up earlier and still going to bed at midnight, so I am constantly tired. I'm glad you had a more normal week though. I'm enjoying having a more normal schedule and mostly working inside the house.

I love the new Jennifer Estep series and also got Crush the King. I have so many great ARCs and I want to read them NOW and often don't manage it until the week before they come out for the review. Sigh. Happy reading!

  12. LOL, she probably did really want her car, but I'll bet she also really misses mom, dad, and home. The pup would definitely keep you hopping. :)
Glad it was a normal week and wishing you a good one for next week, Carole.

  13. I am glad your daughter was able to come home for the weekend, even if it was partly for her car. I am sure it was to see you and her dad too. And that adorable puppy. :-) Crush the King looks like it will be a fun read. I hope you have a great week, Carole! I'm adjusting to having Mondays instead of Fridays off. You wouldn't think it would make such a big difference, but it does. At least psychologically. I'm sure I'll adjust.

  14. I hope the puppy lets you sleep this week! When my sister’s windshield got smashed, there was glass EVERYWHERE. We found bits of glass for months. It even came shooting out of the vents when we turned on the air conditioner.

  15. Glad that you got the window fixed and even if she did want her car, you guys reaped the benefits. The puppy is so cute but yes, they can be exhausting. Yet think how much joy they give us. Hope you have a wonderful week!

  16. I am sure she missed home as well, or probably for the puppy? Definitely for the parents

  18. Sometimes, normalcy in our lives is all we need. For me, if I can stay at home on the weekends, it's all I could ask for. :)

    Happy reading!

  19. Ooof, I missed the car debacle! At least now that she has her car back she can drive herself back and forth. 👍✨

Yeah, puppies are so much work! When I get another dog I think it will be an adult because my son is a diehard cat person, and I don't know how much help he would be, if any. 😛

I hope you had a great start to your week! 🌞

  20. Maybe she wanted to see you two and it was a combination of both things! You've had a lot of busy and stressful weeks (even some fun ones!) so I am glad things were a bit more 'normal' this time, even though there wasn't enough time still.
