2018 Wrap Up

Happy 2019!

I thought it would be nice to take a look back at 2018 as we celebrate the new year.

My Life
A lot of things happened in 2018.  Some good and some not so good.  We said goodbye to the best worst cat ever, Sassy.  I had surgery.  My daughter started her senior year of high school.  We got through my daughter's last high school marching band season. All in all, it was a good year with a lot of laughs and quite a bit of fun.

Challenges
I only participated in 2 challenges in 2018.

Goodreads Challenge
I read 187 books towards my goal of 100 on Goodreads.

Blogger Shame
The Blogger Shame Challenge is hosted by Anna @ Herding Cats & Burning Soup.

I read 23 books towards this challenge.  I had hoped for 50 so I fell short of my goal but at least I made a dent in my pile.

What were some of your favorite books from 2018?

  1. Glad you had a good year Carole! And 187 books!! I am in awe of those numbers haha!

Stillhouse Lake looks amazing, I've always liked that cover- it just looks so mysterious and suspenseful with all the mist. :) And Colleen Gleason- I've read a couple of her YA books and liked them- I'd like to read more of her work. Ditto with Kelly Meding- I've only read Three Days to Dead by her but I really liked it!

    Happy New Year!

  8. Love seeing your milestones, Carole.

You have picked some real gems that I enjoyed, too. Not bad on the blogger shame. That's two per month off the dusty pile. :) And, yay for surpassing your GR goal.

    Have a great new year!

    1. It does seem strange not to have a cat but we had a lot of good years with her.

    1. To be fair, I do set my Goodreads goal super low so it isn't really much of a challenge.

  18. Aw! So sorry about your cat Sassy :( Seems like she was aptly named. I hope all went well with the surgery and your daughter has a good last year of high school.
You did so well with your challenges even if you didn't compete one of them. That's a lot of ARCs! I hope you have a great reading year!

  20. I'm happy you loved Winter of the Witch! I wanted to start 2019 off with a good book, so I started reading it, but I felt guilty because I had three other ARCs publishing before it, so I switched to White Stag and I'm hating it. Ugh. Ha ha. 😝

  21. You made me laugh with the "best/worse" cat statement. I'm sorry you've lost her. I know how tough it is to loose a pet. I hope you have a great 2019.
