This week's neglected book

Cold-Hearted Rake by Lisa Kleypas

Series: The Ravenels #1
Publication Date: October 27, 2015
Publisher: Avon
A twist of fate . . .

Devon Ravenel, London's most wickedly charming rake, has just inherited an earldom. But his powerful new rank in society comes with unwanted responsibilities . . . and more than a few surprises. His estate is saddled with debt, and the late earl's three innocent sisters are still occupying the house . . . along with Kathleen, Lady Trenear, a beautiful young widow whose sharp wit and determination are a match for Devon's own.

A clash of wills . . .

Kathleen knows better than to trust a ruthless scoundrel like Devon. But the fiery attraction between them is impossible to deny—and from the first moment Devon holds her in his arms, he vows to do whatever it takes to possess her. As Kathleen finds herself yielding to his skillfully erotic seduction, only one question remains:

Can she keep from surrendering her heart to the most dangerous man she's ever known?

Why did I add Cold-Hearted Rake to my bookshelf?

According to Amazon, I purchased my paperback copy of this book in December 2015 and I honestly have no idea why I haven't read it yet.  I even added the Audible version of the book to my library in August 2017.   I love Lisa Kleypas's writing and have read one of the later books in the series which I loved. I just need to hurry up and get to this book!

What are your thoughts? Have you read this book?  Would you recommend it to others?

  7. I like Lisa Kleypas but haven't and don't read much historical romance. But if you have it, you should read it, she's a talented author. Anne - Books of My Heart

  8. I do that too. Get all excited about a book. Even buy it in more than one format. And then it gets lost in the stacks. This sounds like a fun one and such a pretty cover.

  9. Ha! I've got about 8 of her books setting on my shelf and really need to get going on them. Neat that you have it in both print and audio so you're good no matter which you're in the mood for.

  10. Isn't it funny when we buy books and then they sit for a few years? :)

  11. I've never heard of it but I've never read these sorts of books and this cover looks the same as all the other historical romance novels, so no worries. I mean don't worry if you haven't read this particular one. I'm sure another one will come along just like it? lol idk.

  14. It's funny when you find a book you've owned for forever and still haven't read. I find this happens to me a lot with Kindle books.
