Stacking the Shelves #138

I am really excited to participate in Stacking the Shelves, a weekly meme hosted by Tynga's Reviews and Reading Reality.

My Life

This is a busy time of year around our house and this week was no different. Last weekend, we went to Mizzou to see a football game and meet one of the professors.  The visit went well except for the fact that I left my sunscreen at home.  My face ended up getting incredibly sunburned and was quite painful for a bit.

I am off at another marching band competition today so please be patient if it takes some time to return comments.

Books Added

The Mortal Word by Genevieve Cogman (NetGalley)
Instauration by Sarah Lyons Fleming (Kindle Unlimited)

I am really excited to get an early copy of The Mortal Word since I have been a huge fan of the series since it began.  I was very excited by the fact that Instauration was released this week.   I had planned to wait for the audiobook but when I noticed that the book was available on Kindle Unlimited, I downloaded it right away and set all other reading material aside.  I am about halfway through with this 900+ page book and am loving every minute of it.

What books do you add to your shelves this week?
Let me know in the comments and be sure to leave a link to your own STS post!

  1. I'm doing nothing but reading and watching stuff this weekend! The phrase '900 pages' scares me!

    1. I don't mind long books as long as they are what I want to read. I was really excited to start this one and wanted it to last as long as possible so long was good!

  8. Oh I sunburn terribly too. One time in Florida for a vendor conference I went to the beach and used sunscreen except I forgot my feet. I actually had to have a shot to reduce the swelling so I could walk. Another time I was spring skiing, again I wore sunscreen, and ended up in the hospital overnight with ice packs on my face (Colorado) So I feel for you!

I'm also excited for Mortal Word. I haven't heard of he city series but that is one long book. Anne - Books of My Heart

  13. Oh I hate sunburns and I'm notoriously bad about sunscreen which given my coloring is close to tragic. I go tomato pretty quickly which isn't flattering given my red hair! Another Invisible Library book! I got the first one for Christmas (okay 2 Christmases ago) and really meant to read it! Have a great week!
