Stacking the Shelves #134

I am really excited to participate in Stacking the Shelves, a weekly meme hosted by Tynga's Reviews and Reading Reality.

My Life

This week started out slow but things got pretty busy towards the end.  We went to a college night at my daughter's music program on Thursday night to see what they had to say about the experience of studying music in college and the audition experience.  My husband was given 4 tickets to Friday night's Cardinals baseball game and it was pretty exciting to see them win.

This is going to be a quiet 3 day weekend.  I feel like I really need a bit of extra rest and so thankful for that extra day off.  I hope to work on getting caught up on comments this weekend after falling behind at the end of the week.  I plan to work on the blog, read, and watch some Game of Thrones this weekend and I am pretty excited about it.

Books Added

Future Shock by Elizabeth Briggs (Kindle Purchase)
Artificial Condition by Martha Wells (Library)
Rogue Protocol by Martha Well (Library)
Jane Doe by Victoria Helen Stone (Kindle Unlimited)
In the Heir by Ruth Cardello (Kindle Unlimited)

I did a lot of borrowing but not a lot of buying this week which is a good thing.  I did pick up Future Shock when I caught it on sale for only $0.99.  After winning the first book in the Murderbot Diaries, I decided to request the next two installments from the library.  Both Artificial Condition and Rogue Protocol are pretty short so I hope to fit them in within the next couple of weeks.  I signed up for 3 months of Kindle Unlimited at the end of July so I am trying to squeeze as many audiobooks from the program into my reading schedule as I can during those 3 months.  Jane Doe was recommended by Ilona Andrews so I grabbed that one and I had a great time with it.  I also listened to In the Heir this week and thought it was a well done romance and plan to start the next book in the series very soon.

What books do you add to your shelves this week?
Let me know in the comments and be sure to leave a link to your own STS post!

    1. It is sticky and gross outside. I wish it would have been the kind of weather that makes it nice to sit outside.

  4. I am also really happy about the three day weekend. I have so much to catch up on! What a nice bonus, that your team won the game you went to. It's especially sweet, when you don't go to a lot of games.

I like your plan for the weekend. I got a few chores done today and now I can just relax, too. :)

  12. How fun! It's been too long since I last went to a professional baseball game. You certainly deserve a quiet weekend after a busy week. Can you believe you are planning for college already? We are taking it easy this weekend too. Our last for awhile. LOL Your new books all look good! I really want to read Future Shock as well as the Martha Wells books. You always read the best books. I hope you have a great week, Carole!

  16. Yeah three day weekends are nice for sure. They do have some good books on KU. But its not a program I would use all the time. Since I don't read too much self published books. I do like Ruth Cardello though :)

    1. I only signed up for 3 months of KU since is was $0.99 for the 3 months. I won't continue once the time is over but there are enough audiobooks to keep me busy while I do have it.

  20. Sounds like a great weekend plan! Of course, I love Murderbot and they are quick to read. I got the same thing for the same reason in KU. Also I am currently listening to Under Control. So we are in sync on our reading fronts at the moment. Anne - Books of My Heart
