June 2018 - Monthly Wrap-Up

June 2018

June was a strange month around my house.  My daughter was gone for a week and half so my husband and I had plenty of quiet time.  We also had a lot of time in the car since we drove from St. Louis to Bloomington, Indiana and back twice.  Summer has definitely arrived and hasn't really let up.  It is hard to stay outside for very long just because the air feels sticky with humidity.

I am linking this post to the Monthly Wrap-Up at Feed Your Fiction Addiction.

  3. The weather here has been awful. It’s so hot all the time. I had a terrible reading month in June, so I’m determined to read at least 12 books in July. We’ll see if that actually happens. Have a great July!

    1. Part of me wants to push to read more books but I have such a backlog of books to review that I think my pace is pretty on target.

    1. It was really nice to get some days at a slower pace. My daughter seems to go full speed at all times.

  13. My NG ratio is over 80% too!!!! Congratulations to us, since it looks like they did away with that badge. I am eager to see what you think of The Accidentals. I pre-ordered, because I am so excited that Bowen is doing a YA book. I see you are reading Jane Doe. I ugly cried reading the ending of that book. I cried a little telling other people about it too.

    1. I was so disappointed when the badge didn't show up, Sam! I emailed them and they said they are working on it whatever that means. I am about 20% into The Accidentals right now and am liking it :)

  14. You certainly enjoy many of the same books as me. And I want to read all the ones I haven't read which you have. I thought I would get around and do lots of reading of blogs and commenting and it hasn't worked out at all. Too hot, too many doctor appts for my daughter. Happy 4th of July! 1. We do have very similar tastes in books. I thought I would get all kind of blog stuff and commenting done this week and it hasn't quite worked out for me either.

  15. Part of me doesn't want to believe summer is here yet, but it is in full swing, isn't it? Soon we'll be headed off to visit my mom in her part of the state. It looks like you had a great month in June, Carole. So many of those are books I want to read! I am going to be taking a little break this next week, but hope to return after that. It's a busy time for us right now so we'll see. I hope you have a great July!

    1. I completely understand, Wendy! I thought I would be doing a lot with the blog this week but it just hasn't worked out. Sometimes a break is what is needed.

  17. That's a lot of car miles, especially in the heat. Do you listen to audiobooks while travelling? I've suggested it a few times for us, but OH isn't keen.

    1. My husband and I have listened to audiobooks but that is really just him being agreeable :) He usually does the driving so I can read a book. It works out.

  18. I hate humidity! Glad you seemed to have a good month! (Unless I've entirely misread the situation, in which case I apologise!) <3

  19. We've had the humidity here too and our AC has been on more this year than normal. Finally after almost two weeks we are getting rain--my lawn is brownish, but I don't have to mow! The Accidentals sounds really good. I hope it;s fun to read for you. We've had many road trips to take kids back and forth--I just wish I could read in the car without getting sick and I'd be more caught up with my pile of books.
