Stacking the Shelves #119

I am really excited to participate in Stacking the Shelves, a weekly meme hosted by Tynga's Reviews and Reading Reality.

My Life
This was another busy week.  We had an awards night and an orchestra concert to attend but both seemed to move a little faster than most school events which was nice.  My daughter's last day of school is Thursday and she will be busy with finals all week.  It is hard to believe that they are already done with this school year.  I did get some reading done during the week and added quite a few books to my collection.  I didn't add any review books this week which is a big plus.

Books Added This Week

This was my haul from the one of the big book fairs held locally that I had the chance to attend last weekend.  This is all of the books that both me and my daughter selected so there are a few in the pile that I don't have a lot of interest in reading.  I have actually read quite a few of these books but wanted to have a copy for my shelves.  This is a lot of books but it didn't have as big of an impact on my tbr as you would think.

Shattered by Kevin Hearne (eStories Purchase)
Only Human by Sylvain Neuvel (Audible Purchase)
Hunting Ground by Patricia Briggs (Audible Purchase)
Burn Bright by Patricia Briggs (Audible Purchase)
Cold Days by Jim Butcher (Audible Purchase)

I decided to use up all of my accumulated credits at both Audible and eStories so that I could cancel my accounts for a bit.  I am working my way through The Iron Druid Chronicles so I was happy to add Shattered to my collection.  I have actually already read the other four books but I love to re-read my favorites in audio so I was thrilled to add these books to my collection as well.

What books do you add to your shelves this week?
Let me know in the comments and be sure to leave a link to your own STS post!

  3. Oh wow! You did awesome at the book fair! I sadly couldn't find anything...I so obviously had to have gone after you! Lol!! The one book that I saw that I almost bought I talked myself out of, because one I have it in a different format and secondly, it was book 2 in the trilogy that I loved so much. Had it been book 1 I would've bought it, but for book 2 and just to have it? I was kind of like eh. Lol!

My STS will be up tomorrow, so be sure to stop by then!

    Have a GREAT day!

    1. We went pretty late on Saturday. I read from a lot of different genres so it is usually pretty easy for me to find things that I want to read.

  4. Woo! All the pretty new books. I've done that before with wanting hardcovers of past books or print of ebooks I've already read. It's nice to have them sometimes :) Hope the last little bit of end of school year craziness goes well!

    1. Some of the books that we bought that I had already read were for my daughter since she wants to read them. Some were because I wanted a print copy to look pretty on my shelves. Some were because I read them, liked them, but don't remember them and want to do a re-read. My memory is not what it used to be...lol.

  6. Congrats on all the new books. I hope you enjoy. I love the audiobooks too. I know that I've had to pause my Audible account a few times. I've even canceled before and let it rest. I get so many books from publishers and the library, I don't need Audible as much as I used to.

I can't believe there is already talk about kids being out for summer. Where has this year gone?

    1. I have such a backlog of books right now and I do have an account still in use under my husband's name. I am sure I will be signing up again at some point but I do tend to use the library for a lot more books lately.

  7. Wow, you got so many books! I went way overboard with book buying this week, too, but it was because I had used bookstore credits that I needed to spend. I hope you have a great week!

    1. Thanks, AJ! Book fairs only happen once a year so I think it is okay to go a little nuts. I wish there was a used bookstore around here!

  8. Amazing haul from the Bookfair.

I didn't know I could cancel Audible and still keep my audiobooks.

    1. You don't have to have a paid membership to log into your account and access your books. The books are available even if you don't have a current membership. I really should have said membership instead of account in my post.

  13. Nice big stack. I caught a Mother's Day sale at one of my favorite on-line stores and got four books that I was missing from series I am collecting in print copy. Wow, it is something that the school year is almost over.
Lovely goodies for your audio re-read stack.

Have a great week coming, Carole!

  14. The school year being done is crazy, or almost done- we have a few weeks yet but yikes. This year flew! Nice haul of books, even if they're not all new reads. And yay for Only Human- I only read book one of that series but I'm seriously thinking of jumping back in and getting books two and three.

    Happy reading!!

    1. I liked KOA as well so I didn't hesitate to let my daughter add it to the pile since she was interested in it. I read Shopaholic back in the day so that one is for my kiddo as well. Luckiest Girl does look like a good read.
