Stacking the Shelves #114

I am really excited to participate in Stacking the Shelves, a weekly meme hosted by Tynga's Reviews and Reading Reality.

My Life
I was back at work this week.  I spent a lot of the week trying to get caught up after being off for vacation.  On Sunday, I watched The Shape of Water and ended up really enjoying it.  My daughter was going to watch it with me but she didn't like it and decided not to finish watching it.  Obviously, it is not a movie for everyone but I thought it was the perfect kind of weird.  It was really a pretty quiet week.  We are celebrating Easter with my family today and I am looking forward to spending a few hours with everyone.

Books Added This Week
After Anna by Lisa Scottoline (NetGalley)
Royally Matched by Emma Chase (Kindle Purchase)
Hanover House by Brenda Novak (Library via Hoopla)

I added three books this week but only spent $0.99 which is a win in my book.  I have been a fan of Lisa Scottoline for years so I finally decided to download After Anna from NetGalley.  I decided to grab Royally Matched when I saw it was on sale for $0.99 since I already have the first book in the series.  I have read Hanover House but it has been a while so I decided to do a quick audio re-read before continuing with the series.

What books do you add to your shelves this week?
Let me know in the comments and be sure to leave a link to your own STS post!

  2. OOh nice ones! I think I might want to see The Shape of Water eventually! I loved The Creature from the Black Lagoon, and although it's a different kind of story I see some similarities that makes me think I might like it!

Nice new reads too! All new to me ones but I hope you enjoy them all!

My STS will be up tomorrow, so stop by then if you can!

    Have a GREAT day!

  5. Yay for a quiet week for you to get back in the swing after your vacation. Way to go spending only a dollar for this week's haul. I snagged one at a discount store for $1.99, Golden Son by Pierce Brown, since I plan to read that series at some point.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

    1. I am happy to hear that you enjoyed After Anna. I am kind of getting a slow start with it but that is most likely because we have been very busy at my house lately.

  14. Enjoy your Easter today! I'm really conflicted on The Shape of Water because I'm not really sure what it's about- a love story between a woman and an aquatic guy I guess?- but I am pretty curious and will no doubt watch it! Glad to hear it was good.

    1. That about sums it up Greg. It was weird but I still liked it. My daughter hated it.

  15. I hope you had a wonderful Easter celebration today. I was excited to see The Shape of Water, until I started seeing more previews of it and decided that it probably isn't something that I would like. Great deal on your books, enjoy them all.

    1. It looked weird enough that I was pretty sure I would like it. My husband wanted nothing to do with it and my daughter hated it. It is not for everyone.

  21. I don't think The Shape of Water is going to be my type of film so I don't have plans to watch it. I feel the need to buy a few books as I haven't done much of that recently even though my reading has stalled a bit!
