I am really excited to participate in Stacking the Shelves, a weekly meme hosted by Tynga's Reviews and Reading Reality.
It has rained almost every day during my vacation. So we have had a muddy backyard and 3 dogs that are stuck in the house because they do not want to get wet to deal with most days which is just a lot of fun. The sun did come out on Friday and I hope it decides to stick around for a bit.
My Life
I have been on vacation this week which is always nice. This wasn't really a relaxing vacation though. We had 4 college visits for my daughter scheduled which are actually very time consuming. I took my daughter to three of the visits but stayed home with the dogs and a book for the college that is out of state. My daughter will probably end up going to the school that is about 3 1/2 hours away but we feel like we need to check out all of the possibilities. It has rained almost every day during my vacation. Books Borrowed
Bittersweet by Sarina Bowen (Library via Hoopla)
I adored the forth book in Sarina Bowen's True North series so I thought it was time to check out the beginning of the series. I hope to get started with this one soon.

What books do you add to your shelves this week?
Let me know in the comments and be sure to leave a link to your own STS post!
I hope you have good luck finding a college. My yard is full of mud too. My dog wants to go outside, but then doesn't want to stay because he doesn't like to be wet either. I hope you have a great week ahead.
ReplyDeleteMelanie @ Hot Listens & Rabid Reads
We have 3 dogs and 2 of them are only 2 so they have tons of energy and being stuck in the house all day doesn't help out at all. Thanks, Melanie!
DeleteUgh, this rain has been driving me crazy! Then with our dogs, one has no problem, doing his business in the rain, the other doesn't like it. He keeps coming to do the door without doing anything! It's frustrating to get him to go! Lol! Glad the college visits went well! Hope she gets into her first choice!
ReplyDeleteNice new read! Total new to me one but I hope you love it once you read it!
My STS will be up tomorrow, so stop by then if you can!
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower :)
When the sun came out on Friday, I was so happy. We have definitely had more than our share of rain this week!
DeleteYes, that is a busy week, but glad you pretty much have the college question sorted out. Hope you enjoy your Bowen book.
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter, Carole!
Happy Easter to you, Sophia Rose!
DeleteYay for vacation! Sounds busy with the visits and boo with the rain. Enjoy Bittersweet. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteIt was nice not having to worry about work but it was very busy and wet. Thanks, Grace!
DeleteI hope you have a good vacation, even if it isn’t a real vacation. Luckily, my dogs don’t care about rain or snow. They’ll happily get wet and track mud through the house.
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
I have a mixed group so some of my dogs will just get wet but one of my dogs will walk to the back door, see rain, and then turn around. It has been so much fun.
DeleteCollege visiting can be daunting, so good luck with all that. :) Hope she finds a great place to get her schooling. It's cool when they have choices I had to just go to the school nearest me as I couldn't afford anything else. lol
ReplyDeleteWe live in St. Louis so there are a lot of local choices. She has really good grades and should be getting scholarships to cover most of the cost so we are very lucky.
DeleteSounds like a busy vacation.
ReplyDeleteIt really has been. I need a vacation from my vacation.
DeleteBest of luck with your daughter and whichever college she chooses. Hope you enjoy your next read :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Shane!
DeleteThis weather is crazy. It can't decide what it wants. we were almost 90 and sunny last week - now rain and 70's. I just wan the pollen to be done with.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read this series yet but I've always enjoyed Bowen's books.
Karen @ For What It's Worth
I am ready for things to warm up enough for me to put away the winter coat for a while. I have only read one of Bowen's books but absolutely loved it so I am looking forward this one.
DeleteHope the weekend turned out sunny for you. Happy reading.
ReplyDeleteNo such luck - we had some kind of snow/sleet mixture today. I am so over winter!
DeleteYou are so lucky your daughter is looking at so many school's in state. I had to drive to Boston, Pittsburgh, and Syracuse, when my daughter was doing visits. Hated it! I hope you get to Bittersweet, that series is so good.
ReplyDeleteShe is looking but I am 90% sure she is going to end up in a different state. As long as it isn't too far, I am good. I am back at work next week so I will be back to listening to more audiobooks.
DeleteHope your daughter finds a good college!
ReplyDeleteHere’s my STS!

Thanks, Ronyell!
DeleteOh I remember that well. Hope they all went well and she's happy with her final choice :)
ReplyDeleteShe is junior but she will need to start applying by the end of 2018. It is quite the process.
DeleteA crazy vacay then
ReplyDeleteA busy one for sure!
DeleteI haven't read this author. I love the cover tho. I hope you find the right fit college for your daughter and she isn't to far away. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteMary my #SundayRoundup #12!
I am not really a fan of the cover. It looks weird to me but I have high hopes for the book.
DeleteGlad all the college visits went well. I am sure she will chose the right one!
ReplyDeleteAs long as she gets some good scholarships, I will be happy!
DeleteUgh, rainy vacation. Good for curling up with books, bad for dogs' sanity, I think!
ReplyDeleteMy STS (with bonus bunny pics!).
The dogs are so nuts that they are making it hard for me to get any reading done!
DeleteOne thing I don't miss now that I live in NYC is the mud that happens on rainy days in the country. Ugh.
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoy your new book!
My backyard is a mud pit, Rachelle!
DeleteVacation! That's wonderful :) I'd love one as well. That's too bad it wasn't too relaxing though... Maybe next time :)
ReplyDeleteHave a great April!
I am pretty sure that my life will be somewhat busy as long as my daughter is at home. In about a year and half, she will be going away to college and I might miss the busy.
DeleteThose college visits are definitely exhausting but hopefully she picks the right one. I have one at a school 5 hours away and it does make things a little challenging at times. She had something go out on her car that my husband could have easily replaced but she ended up having to take to a shop which costs about 3x as much. At least we have a mechanic we like there! Staying at home with a book sounds heavenly! Glad you enjoyed your vacation even if it wasn't particularly relaxing! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteMy daughter is looking at a school 3.5 hours from home. We looked at a more local school and I pointed out to her that she could call us for help if she were there a lot more easily. I have a feeling that I will need to find a mechanic in Kentucky!
DeleteI hope you enjoy your book and any vacation left!
ReplyDeleteI am back at work but I did just start listening to this book. So far so good.
DeleteI need to continue this series. I found her Boston Bruisers enjoyable.
ReplyDeleteHappy reading!
I read the fourth book in this series and loved it so it is time to go back to the start.
DeleteI'm so glad I never had all those college visits to deal with! I just went to the two colleges in my town to make life easier!
ReplyDeleteI never really thought about going away either but I think it will be a good experience for my daughter.
