I am really excited to participate in Stacking the Shelves, a weekly meme hosted by Tynga's Reviews and Reading Reality.
My duaghter has talked me into taking her shopping for her prom dress this weekend which should prove to be an adventure. Wish me luck!
My Life
This week was busy! I knew that the calm wouldn't last forever. Wednesday night we went to my daughters band concert which was nice but it took up the entire evening. On Friday, my daughter performed at the local solo and ensemble festival. My daughter earned a 1 which is the highest score for her trombone solo and her brass trio. She also filled in at the last minute for a trombone quartet that had a sick member. She didn't get a chance to warm up or even run through the music before the performace and that group earned a 2 so I was impressed. My duaghter has talked me into taking her shopping for her prom dress this weekend which should prove to be an adventure. Wish me luck!

Sirens by Joseph Knox (Blogging for Books)
I am really looking forward to this book. It looks like a great one to work in the next time I am in the mood for a thriller.

Old Follower :)
We were able to find a dress pretty quickly so I am happy!
DeleteYou do sound busy! Prom dress shopping sounds fun - good luck. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteIt seems like the schools like to schedule everything in the same week. Exhausting!
DeleteYou always sound so busy! I don't know how you manage it!
ReplyDeleteIt does get busy around here at times!
DeleteSirens looks good. I have never tried Kleypas but need to remedy that.
ReplyDeleteI love Kleypas! I think you would enjoy her work as well, Kimberly.
DeleteOhh Prom dress shipping. That should be fun. We want pictures of the dress!
ReplyDeleteI am sure that I will be posting some photos once they go to the dance. I really like what she picked out.
DeleteAh! I think I will go enter your Hello Stranger giveaway! I've not read a Kleypas book in a while and I've seen very positive feedback for that. :D
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely weekend, Carole! Enjoy dress shopping. =)
Alyssa @ The Eater of Books!
Good luck in the contest! Hello Stranger is a great book :)
DeleteGood luck with the prom shopping! Yikes teens are an adventure aren't they? I often think- send help!! Ha ha.
ReplyDeleteHope Sirens is a good one!
They can definitely be an adventure but they are a lot of fun all at the same time.
DeleteI bought Hello Stranger! Enjoy your new books!
ReplyDeleteWow! Your daughter is incredible and how exciting! Prom dress shopping. Good luck. I hope you quickly find the perfect dress.
ReplyDeleteWe did find the perfect dress within a few hours. I feel like we accomplished something :)
DeleteOoo. That Sirens book has a very intriguing cover. Hope you enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteI do like the cover of Sirens.
DeleteDoes sound like a hectic week but it also sounds like a lot of fun. I hope you have fun prom shopping with your daughter. I remember senior prom shopping with my mother and it was a nightmare. I'm sure the two of you will fare much better!
ReplyDeleteMy youngest daughter is such a calm and easy going kid so shopping was a pretty easy experience. My oldest daughter thought I was evil when she was this age and would have fought me every step of the way in terms of choosing a dress. I don't like shopping so I am just glad that we now have the dress.
DeleteGood luck with the prom dress shopping. I hope you enjoy your new books!
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
Prom dress shopping turned out to be easier than expected which is very good!
DeleteWow! You're daughter did great. Oh, yes, good luck on the dress hunt. :)
ReplyDeleteI had to look twice at that ripped looking cover thinking 'what did Carole do to that poor book?' LOL.
It does look like a rather abused book doesn't it?
DeleteHey its pretty good when they ask your daughter to fill in, that means she's really good!! And I just ordered a Lisa Kleypas book this past Friday, which shipped yesterday!!Have a great week-and I did enter the contest..LOL
ReplyDeletehttp://justmeandmyblogreviews.blogspot.com/2018/03/stacking-shelves.html
I was just amazed that she was able to step in like she did. Good luck on the giveway!
DeleteI have to get my hands on this book by Lisa Kleypas! I am riding out the storm that took out our power at a friends. So surreal looking at all the downed trees and power lines cut in half. They say we won't have power to our area till Wednesday!! Have a good Sunday!
ReplyDeleteMary #SundayRoundup #8
I am so sorry that you are without power! I am glad that you did find someplace warm to go though. Hello Stranger is such a great book!
DeleteI always enjoyed going to my kid's music concerts. Sure a good way to get a dose of classical music ;-)
ReplyDeleteI like the concerts but they have become way to long at my daughter's school. You have to be in a seat at 6:30 if you want a chair and it isn't over until 9:30. It ends up being a 4 hour event which is just too long for me. They do sound good though.
DeleteCongrats to you daughter. I hope you have a great week.
ReplyDeleteMelanie @ Hot Listens & Rabid Reads
Thanks, Melanie!
DeleteThat's awesome about your daughter's performance. Congrats to her! I also hope everything went well with the prom dress shopping. I remembering it was a trying time for my mom back in the day - I just couldn't make up my mind and I waited until the last minute of course lol Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteProm dress shopping went a lot better than I thought it might. I am glad that we can mark it off of our to do list!
DeleteI hope prom dress shopping went well! Congratulations to your daughter for scoring so high! That is wonderful! Sirens sounds like it will be good. I hope you have a great week, Carole!
ReplyDeleteI am really looking forward to starting Sirens. I hope to get to it soon.
DeleteSounds like a busy week both in the books and coming up! Congratulations to your daughter for her performances. Have fun with prom dress shopping! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Katherine!
DeleteSounds like your daughter is very talented with instruments. I always find that impressive. :D
ReplyDeleteShe does have a lot of talent.
DeleteOh how awesome for the kidlet. That's exciting news and definitely something to be proud of having all that hard work paying off :)
ReplyDeleteIt is exciting. It is a lot of fun to get to watch her accomplish all of these awesome things.
