February 2018
I can't believe that we have already made it to March! Time really does seem to move a little faster every year. February has proven to be a rather calm month which was very welcome. My daughter went to Chicago with her Jazz Ensemble from school this month which gave me and my husband a weekend with just the two of us and our 3 dogs. The Olympics seemed to be on in my house nearly every day but it was background noise for me more than anything else.
I am pretty happy with how the month on the blog turned out. I do have a backlog of books that need to be reviewed but I am sure that there will be some spots opening up on the blog soon. I have been consistently posting 6 days a week so far this year. I have thought about posting every day but really do like to have at least one day a week off. I have been able to keep up with returning all comments made on the blog. I would love to get around to other blogs a bit more but it is really an issue of time most days.

I was pretty generous with 5 stars this month with 4 books that earned 5 stars!

How was your month? Do you have any reading or blogging goals for March?
You're making good progress on your Goodreads Challenge! I think I need to double my efforts this month as I took a few too many days off reading in February and ran out of time on my Puppy Love Challenge!
ReplyDeleteI should finish the Goodreads challenge pretty early this year. I like picking a no stress number.
Deletegood progress! I think you are going pretty strong this year hehe
ReplyDeleteSo far so good!
DeleteWow great progress! That's awesome that you and your husband had a weekend to yourself. Sounds nice and relaxing. Hope March is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteWe don't get a lot of time with just the two of us and we did enjoy the quiet house.
DeleteA very good month :)
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteThe Olympics were on in my house constantly, too. I’m glad you got a lot of blogging done. I always feel like I’m struggling to keep up with mine. Have a great March!
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
I am always rushing around at the last minute and have a huge backlog. It is a constant struggle.
DeleteYay for a calm month. That s always nice. Looks like a great reading month too in number of books and quality with those 5 star reads. Hope you have a great March!
ReplyDeleteCalm is always good!
DeleteWow, what a great reading month. You seem to be on quite the roll. Glad this month was fairly quiet - quiet is always good. I'm super interested in Mind of a Killer. Anxious to hear your thoughts!
ReplyDeleteThis is about an average number of books for me as long as we are not too busy. Audiobooks really add a lot to my numbers.
DeleteYay for a quiet month that gave you couple time and great reading time. LOL, the review queue just never goes away. ;) Neat that you had four five-stars this month and are doing great on your challenges.
ReplyDeleteHave a great March, Carole!
I need to spend some time writing out the reviews for books that I have finished. I don't know why I always let myself get behind.
DeleteLooks like your doing pretty good! I am really interested in Mind of a Killer!!!
ReplyDeleteI requested Mind of a Killer as soon as I saw it on NetGalley. I hope it is as good as it sounds.
DeleteI blog ahead about 2 months so I have more time to return comments. Time is an issue for me as well.
ReplyDeleteAnytime I blog ahead I seem to get lazy and use up all of my finished posts and then am right back where I started. I return all comments but I don't always have time to visit blogs that haven't left a comment.
DeleteYou’ve had a great reading and blogging month from the looks of it. A quiet weekend with the husband sounds amazing! Tell me what it is like. Lol..
ReplyDeleteIt was great, Jenea!
DeleteI just downloaded Runaway Groom. I hope to listen to it soon. It sounds fun, and Layne is always good for me.
ReplyDeleteI hope you like Runaway Groom as much as I did, Sam. I think that it was a book that fit my mood perfectly when I read it.
DeleteDefinitely want to read Hello Stranger!! Here is my wrapup:

There is a giveaway of Hello Stranger on this blog that you might want to check out, Joann!
DeleteYou had a good month. Your to read next pile looks marvelous!
ReplyDeleteI do have some books coming up that I am really excited about reading.
DeleteSame here with Olympics. By the second week we had it on mostly in the background, but it did enable us to see a few things we might have missed.
ReplyDeleteI liked This Fallen Prey, and sometimes I Lie looks like a good one!
It is true that I did catch some parts of the games that I would have missed just by having it one. This Fallen Prey was a great book and I am hopeful that I will enjoy Sometimes I Lie.
DeleteI feel like the older I get, the faster time seems to go by! Especially after having kids! I try to remind myself to enjoy each and every day, because it's only going to happen once. I want to make the most of it!
ReplyDeleteDo You Dog-ear?
I was just telling my husband that each day is a gift and we need to try to enjoy all of them. Time does not slow down.
DeleteI have a huuuge backlog of books to be reviewed and I just don't know how you do it! You read so much and get the reviews posted too. Mostly I read a lot and barely find them time to post a single review a week, let alone keep up with blog commenting and non-review posts too. I didn't really watch any of the Olympics. Even if it was just background noise, it must have been nice to catch some of it!
ReplyDeleteI have a lot of reviews to write though. I listen to audiobooks at work which really does add to my numbers. It can be really hard keeping up during busy weeks.
Delete16 books! Wow, that's amazing for a short month :) Well done Carole!
ReplyDeleteMegan @ http://wanderingsofabookbird.blogspot.co.uk/
Thanks, Megan. It was a short month but a quiet one which makes a big difference.
DeleteOh you are reading Lake Silence I see in the sidebar! I can't wait for it to arrive here next week. :D Looks like you had a pretty great reading month!
ReplyDeleteI am about halfway done with Lake Silence and am really enjoying it so far.
DeleteI also watched the Olympics a lot, but sadly, not every day. I really like the Olympics, so it's a shame I didn't have too much time to devote to it! And I hear you about returning comments. It does take up A LOT of time. I don't even know how you manage to post 6 times a week and do the comments!
ReplyDeleteI honestly wouldn't watch the Olympics. I don't turn on the TV when I am the only one home but my family does enjoy the games. I am able to return comments to everyone who visits this blog but it is really hard to be able to do any more than that.
DeleteIt sounds like you had a wonderful February, Carole. I am glad you and your husband got to have a little alone time. I know how rare that can be when you have kids! I fell way behind in February in terms of posting to my blog. I just couldn't keep up. I blame work mostly, but I know it wasn't just that. I hope you have a great March!
ReplyDeleteIt can be so hard to juggle everything at times. Sometimes a break from the blog is just the thing.
DeleteWhat a nice reading month you had. And a calm month?! Those make me happy. lol Glad yall enjoyed it :)
ReplyDeleteCalm always makes me happy.
DeleteFinding four 5 star reads last month is awesome. I hope your March books are ones you love too.
ReplyDeleteI think I was pretty generous with the stars in February :)
