Stacking the Shelves #83

I am really excited to participate in Stacking the Shelves, a weekly meme hosted by Tynga's Reviews and Reading Reality

This week completely wore me out!  Too much to do and not enough time to do it in was the them of the week.  School was in session for my daughter all week after going back for a couple of days last week.  The beginning of the school year always seems crazy with meetings and open houses....not to mention my daughter turned 17 on Monday.

Next week looks equally busy so I am trying to mentally prepare myself.  I am not someone who needs to have lots of activities to keep me happy.  I prefer to have my evenings open after working all day or I tend to get a bit stressed.

Reading has been very slow this week simply because I was too busy to read much more than a chapter per day.  Hopefully, I can get through a couple of book over the weekend.

Digital Books
Third Son's a Charm by Shana Galen (NetGalley)
On the Chase by Katie Ruggle (NetGalley)
Light it Up by Nick Petrie (NetGalley)
The Immortalists by Chloe Benjamin (Edelweiss)
The English Duke by Karen Ranney (Kindle Purchase)

After staying away from NetGalley and Edelweiss for the past few weeks, I requested a few that look really good.  I have enjoyed Shana Galen in the past and the cover of Third Son's a Charm just couldn't be resisted.  On the Chase and Light it Up are both books in a series that I have been enjoying so I am excited to get my hands on those.  The Immortalists sounds really interesting so I thought I would give it a try.  I caught The English Duke on sale for $1.99 and decided to buy it after reading a great review for it at Addicted to Romance

What books do you add to your shelves this week?
Let me know in the comments and be sure to leave a link to your own STS post!

  1. Back to school time always seems hectic! My niece went back this week as well. Though for whatever reason they started on Wednesday, had Wednesday and Thursday as half days then Friday was a full day?! So weird. Lol!

Nice new reads too! Totally new to me ones! Hope you enjoy them all!

My STS will be up tomorrow, so be sure to stop by then!

    Have a GREAT day!

    1. My daughter went back the week before but only for 2 days. This past week was the first full week and the pace seemed a lot more serious.

  2. This week I'm on a more horror book grab! Slashers and Zombies! Today will be stressful following my team's latest match on Twitter so tonight I plan to unwind with a couple of shark films! Have a great weekend!

  4. haha I will never do STS, because i'm not one of those people to would do it. My 4 yo kid goes to our local library on Tuesdays, while I do mine on sundays ... so there is no need to stack any shelves in my house

  6. I'm still trying to hold off on requesting new ARCs, but I've really been wanting to take a peek at the new ones. I think I may need to break my "freeze" soon. I hope you love the books that you got and have a great week.

  7. I don't like having a lot of events scheduled, either; time to just relax is always the best.

  9. It's so hard to believe school has started already. I'm like you. I like low-key evenings and enjoy down time at home or I get stressed out as well. You asked a question on my blog so I thought if I answered it here, you'd see it faster. On First to Read, once you get a book, you have 42 days to download it before it expires. Then once you download it, you have 42 days to read it before it expires that way. It's all about spacing out your downloads. It took me a LONG time to figure that out. Hope it helps!

    1. I totally did not know that! I thought they expired at the same time no matter when you download them. Thanks for the info!

  11. We have three weeks left here before school starts but am starting to prepare so I won't have any last minute panics. I am like you with activities- I like evenings to be chill, though meeting up with friends is an exception.
