Stacking the Shelves #79

I am really excited to participate in Stacking the Shelves, a weekly meme hosted by Tynga's Reviews and Reading Reality

We are in the middle of a heat wave right now. We have an above ground pool that I have to decided to make full use of in the evenings.  I haven't been around to as many blogs as I would have liked but pool time has been important :)

Digital Books
The Blackbird Season by Kate Moretti (NetGalley)
Berserker by Emmy Laybourne (NetGalley)
Nemesis by Anna Banks (NetGalley)
Moxie by Jennifer Mathieu (NetGalley)
Reincarnation Blues by Michael Poore (First to Read)
Nyxia by Scott Reintgen (First to Read)
Blackwing by Ed McDonald (First to Read)

So much for not adding any new books this week.  I did a pretty good job of staying off of NetGalley but I can't seem to resist the emails.  I am really excited to read all of the new books that were added to my pile this week.

What books do you add to your shelves this week?
Let me know in the comments and be sure to leave a link to your own STS post!

  2. This heatwave is driving me crazy! I sweat like crazy going from my car to the sidedoor where I park next to! Lol!!

Nice new reads! Mostly new to me ones! Except for Nemesis which I did just read this week! I liked it, but it had a rather slow start for me. But I hope you will end up loving it even more!

My STS will be up tomorrow, so be sure to stop by then if you can!

    Have a GREAT day!

    1. The heat is really starting to get to me. I have also had a headache for more than 24 hours which doesn't help.

  3. It's hot in Jersey too. I am not sure if it's so much the heat as the humidity that has me feeling oppressed. It was tough moving boxes in that heat, but the end is near (for the boxes, not sure about the heat). I liked Nemesis and hope to read Ally. I am looking forward to reading Moxie too (I really like Mathieu), but that book is packed right now. I was in the mood for some fluffy romances, so I requested some Entangled ARCs. They usually hit the spot. I had a bunch of Edelweiss requests come through too, so I have lots to read.

  6. Yeah, the heat has been high, for sure. I'd hang out in the pool, too.
Wow, quite the haul. I went a bit nuts on books last week.

    1. Hopefully, I can squeeze that one in very soon. I just couldn't resist the email offering it as a read now on NetGalley.

  10. The heat is miserable! The pool sounds like a really good idea. I still haven't set my little one up but goodness I'm really tempted to at the moment.

  15. I'd love to have a big house somewhere quiet but with an indoor pool! I used to love swimming but it has been a long time since I was near a pool. Enjoy your new books!

    1. I couldn't even imagine having an indoor pool. We put a pool in a long time ago and the kids used to be in it all the time but now they are too busy so me and my husband made use of it.

  16. Your haul is so beautiful! I like the cover of Nyxia. :D I read Nemesis and didn't totally love it but I'm looking forward to reading Ally.

This heat is something! And the rain too. We had a bad storm here early last week. The weather has been crazy!

I hope you enjoy all of your new books! Have a great week, Carole. =)

  17. My favorite is lying around the pool while reading. We don't have one at home but there is a beautiful place we love to go when we need someplace to relax. Sorry about the heat but I hope you're still having a great time. Enjoy your books and happy reading. :)

  19. I only grabbed one from first to read and for the life of me, I can't remember which one. I seriously need to catch up on those requests too. I also grabbed Berserker and have heard good things about it already. Glad you are enjoying time in the pool.

    1. I really need to restrain myself when it comes to first to read. That has been my biggest problem since those books have to be read right away and everything else gets pushed back.

  20. All the books you posted are new to me and some of them look really interesting, I hope you enjoy them all. Enjoy your pool time and stay cool :)

  21. In Spain it is sweltering, so I can totally understand why pool time is vitally important! I also really have to say, good job on keeping the books a bit more limited :D I have heard brilliant things about Nemesis as well :D
