Stacking the Shelves #65

I am really excited to participate in Stacking the Shelves, a weekly meme hosted by Tynga's Reviews

This week started out with my daughter running a half marathon.  I didn't run but it still wore me out since we had to wake up at 4:00am to get her there on time.  The week slowed way down after that and we pretty much stayed home in the evenings after work.  I did BBQ for the first time since last year and am looking forward to more grilling this summer.

Digital Books

The Watcher by Bella Jewel (NetGalley)
On the Plus Side by Alison Bliss (NetGalley)
A Rule Against Murder by Louise Penny (Kindle Purchase)

I loved Bella Jewel's 72 Hours so I am really looking forward to her upcoming romantic suspense.  I thought the previous book in the A Perfect Fit series by Alison Bliss was a good read so I am eager to continue with the series.  I have been buying the books in the Chief Inspector Armand Gamache series as they go on sale.  I should have enough of them to start reading the series pretty soon.

Print Books

One Perfect Lie by Lisa Scottoline (Purchase)

I bought a hardcover copy of One Perfect Lie to take to the book signing in my area.  I had a great time at the event and even had the chance to chat with Lisa a bit.  Look for my review on the blog on Monday along with a few pics from the book signing.

What books do you add to your shelves this week?
Let me know in the comments and be sure to leave a link to your own STS post!

  1. I stuck with the usual favourite genres but added a couple of popular humour books which were fun to read for a change. They don't really fit into horror month though...Have a good weekend!

  3. You're a good mom! I did receive a second copy (?) of a book I won through GoodReads, Spellbook of the Lost and Found. I clicked that I received it when I got the first copy, but I guess the publisher was feeling extra generous. Either way, I am excited about it. I was approved for some DRCs too (180 Seconds, Be True to Me, I Believe in a Thing Called Love) and I pre-order ACOWAR. I look forward to reading them all.

  6. I'd really love to participate in marathons or really just do some casual jogging/runs in the morning but I'm never really one to wake up early. 4AM is so early!! I've been eyeing One Perfect Lie. It's great to know you had a fun chatting with the author. Hope you have a great week ahead, Carole!

  10. I’m training for a marathon right now. I’m doing it slowly because I’m a terrible runner. I hope you have a great week and enjoy your new books!

  18. Oh wow! I am so impressed with your daughter running a half marathon. Probably because I am seriously so bad at running :D But good on her for doing it all and finishing! And yay for it being warm enough for BBQs.
