Stacking the Shelves #52

I am really excited to participate in Stacking the Shelves, a weekly meme hosted by Tynga's Reviews

We are currently in the middle of an ice storm.  I don't know if it is as bad as they say it is because I have not left the house since everything started.  I have mentioned that I don't care for winter?

This was a rather quiet week at my house.  I did get to go to my daughter's All Suburban Concert this week which was really nice.  I am always amazed by how much talent some of these high school music students have.

Digital Books

Walk the Edge by Katie McGarry (Kindle Purchase)
Slave to Sensation by Nalini Singh (Kindle Purchase)

I bought the first book in the Katie McGarry series a couple of weeks ago so I grabbed Walk the Edge while it was on sale this week.  I have wanted to read Nalini Singh so I decided to get the first book in her Psy-Changling series while it is on sale.

Print Books

Girls in the Moon by Janet McNally (Book of the Month box)
The Woman in Cabin 10 by Ruth Ware (Book of the Month box)
When Breath Becomes Air by Paul Kalanithi (Book of the Month box)
The Grownup by Gillian Flynn (Book of the Month box bonus)

I received my Book of the Month box this week which was exciting.  This month we chose Girls in the Moon.  I say we since my daughter actually picked the book out of the 5 options.  Suscribers also have the option of adding 2 additional books to this box for $9.99 each so I decided to add The Woman in Cabin 10 and When Breath Becomes Air this month.  This month's box came with a bonus book, The Grownup, which I actually had already read.  I thought it was nice to get a bonus since I didn't expect anything extra to be in the box.

  1. We're finally getting colder weather here which is fine if like me, you have a stocked food cupboard and no reason to venture outside! I'll just stay in and read thank you very much! Enjoy your books!

  2. Yeah, I saw that ice storm on the weather news. Stay safe!
Fun that you got to go to the High School concert.

Neat what you got in your box. I've been wanting to read The Woman in Cabin 10, too.
Cool about the Nalini Singh book. I just started the series back in November. I'm on book four now.

    Have a good week, Carole!

  3. We don't get much of a winter where I live, but we did have an ice storm once. It was horrible. I don't blame you for not getting out. I hope it passes quickly.

  4. Oh boo to the ice storm! I hate winter. Great books you got. I actually picked up the Groupon for Book of the Month but didn't like the selections for January so I am going to wait until February to redeem it. Hope you enjoy all your new ones and have a great week!!

  6. This ice storm is driving me bonkers! I would totally use the time to snuggle up and read, but I am suffering from a terrible cold that has just gotten worse and worse ever since the beginning of the week. Reading actually hurts. Can't seem to get rid of the cold either and I'm already getting stir crazy from being home all day yesterday! LOL!

Nice new reads! All new to me ones but I hope you enjoy them all!

My STS will be up tomorrow, so stop by then if you can!

    Have a GREAT day!

  10. It's doing some kind of icing/ice storm here too! Though I think it's stopped at the very moment... no thank you to this weather.

I loved Walk the Edge! It's probably one of my favorite McGarry books - and I've read most of hers. I hope you enjoy it, and all of your new books!

Thanks for visiting my blog! Have a lovely weekend, Carole. =)
